Setting: Railway, The Three Chimneys.
Beginning: Roberta also known as Bobbie, Peter, and Phyllis' father goes away and they go and live in three chimneys near a railway. They realize how fun it is. They have an adventure in the coal mine to get coal. And they make friends with an old gentleman, who always waves back when they wave at the train.
Middle: They take in a Russian Captive who got imprisoned for writing about poor people, and they ask the old gentleman to find the Russian's family . They save a train. They saved a baby and dog from a burning house. And they made Mr. Perks a birthday party.
End: Bobbie finds out their father is framed and imprisoned. They take in a boy named Jim, whose grandfather is the old gentleman. And their father comes back.
